Here is a little good news for most....
I had estimated that I would get my approval around beginning Sept, but I got it about 6 weeks earlier. I had been tracking estimating etc., also I had asked a paralegal about whether her customers were being processed in order or if people were disappearing into black holes (as a few appear to a trackins.com). None of her customers were in black holes.
Currently it does appear that Nov and Dec 2002 are being processed at Philly BEC, and in general it does seem to be advancing in date order, with a few approvals now being a few months behind (oldest approval recieved in Dec 2006 was Aug 2002) so the spread was Aug 2002 to Dec 2002 being processed in June 2006. This is based on info at trackins.com and my paralegal's customers.
Also from trackins.com it appears that most 45 day letters have been issued.
They made a public commitment (and in court) to have data entry done by end of June 2006 (i.e. next week). So anyone who has not received a 45 day letter by the end of July should be banging on their door. They appear to be close to all data entry done, so that estimate looks to have been credible. Thus their estimate of all applications processed for Sept 2007 gains some credibility.
Also I based my estimate of when I'd get my LC partly on their estimates of when they'd finish LC processing.

Another thing is do I need to show on departure do I need to show the AP Approval. If I don't then if I leave US and my friend mail it to my place abroad is that ok as my USCIS online application status check system shows my I-131 approved on January 8 and mailed.
You can try it at your local USCIS office after taking infopass appointment. But they may ask you to pay money again for the same. Hope this helps.

raysaikat, and others, can we call a truce and focus on the original intent of the thread? I am sure we can all agree that the top 5 % of the worst university (does not matter which, or where) are usually better than the bottom 5 % of the best university (again, does not matter).
In my life, in our company, I've seen some of the sharpest brains around (PhDs working for the Russian defence before they defected in late 70's and early 80's) and some of the dumbest (a mechanical engineer who refused to believe me when I mentioned the sun was approximately 300000 bigger than the earth in terms of mass and 1000000 times bigger in terms of volume). Believe it or not, I've met a taxi driver who graduated from an Ivy League institution and used to work at NASA in 60s and 70s and worked on developing algorithms for decompressing transmissions. There are all sorts who make the world a pretty interesting, if unpredictable place. :)

Rather than arguing over silly matters, perhaps we should focus on intelligent analysis and if necessary, rebuttal of arguments.
We do not prove anything by arguing over IIT vs Osmania, or North Vs South, but merely conform the worst aspects of Prof. Wadhwa's sweeping generalizations.
I, for one, have serious questions:
A) The video was edited. It is a collection of sound bites. How do we know the context of the statements if we do not have the full transcript?
B) We have no visuals of the charts and figures referred to by Prof Wadhwa.
C) We have no access to the raw data used by Prof. Wadhwa. He may had published it, but I have not seen any of it. (Unless Macaca can ferret out the details.. if anyone can, he is the man!). I have, for instance, basic questions whether immigrants and foreign students were excluded when he (Wadhwa) was counting the openings filled and engineers graduated in US.
I do not mean to offend anyone, nor am I commenting on any country, university, or anything.. so please do not misunderstand me. Let us focus on the what is more important.

03/15/2006: Possible Full Senate Debate Mark-Up Beginning From March 20, 2006
An unconfirmed sources of information has just released a report that the Sen. Bill Frist, Majority Leader is pushing a two-week full Senate floor debate beginning from March 20, 2006 rather than March 27, 2006. This report is indirectly supported by another news that the Senate Judiciary Committee is pressed to extend their additional mark-up on Friday, March 17 to finish up the Committee action before the end of the week.

Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to pickup the Sen. Specter's Mark of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bills today. Initially it was scheduled for two days, March 15 and March 16, but the AILA has just obtained the information that the Committee has tentatively extended the mark-up on March 17, Friday as well in order to finish up this business within this week. As we reported earlier, the Committee has been working on a tight schedule because of the pressure from Senator Frist, the Majority Leader of the Senate to start debate on the Comprehensive Immigration Reform in the Senate beginning from March 27, 2006.
Now is the time for everyone to pickup the phone or send emails to the Senate Judiciary Committee members to urge them to support the bills. Otherwise it will be too late.

I agree with the posts to a certain extent but the last time we sent mass letters only 5000 letters were collected. A couple of people were responsible for collecting 500-1000 letters each. You can caculate the percentage of letter writers of the who actually sent out the letters.
We talk about num usa etal.. bear in mind they have lots of resources and volunteers willing to call and write letters. We keep fighting about EB3 Vs EB2, red dots and green dots and other 'important' issues, very few actually make the calls. The ones who work, keep working while others demand answers as to why issues are not fixed, the rest of us just like discussing issues to death on the forums... just my 2 (pick your denomination).
Volunteers - printed thousands of letters - went to train stations, temples, public places, spent money, time, effort, stamped , enveloped - did everything they could to make the campaign a success but still there were only 5000 letters which in fact showed some results.

s not a policy bill, it's a bill about tweaking the existing policy. Giving everyone a priority date based on his/her date of the arrival to the states is to admit that H1b visa is an immigrant visa, which is not. Don't push an envelope too hard, it might backfire in the most unusual way.

It is true that a lot of the members signed up just so that they can follow the happenings, and maybe post an immediate question that they might have. We may have a huge membership base, but without any action from such a base can make any plan from the core a failure. What we need to do is to energize the baselevel members. The senate is comprised of senators from our respective states, and the house has reps from each state. We have individual state chapeters for IV. I think the Core will need to plan out a strategy to help the state chapters approach their senators and house reps, while the core concentrates on contacting the DoJ committees. Meeting a few senators here and there will not help. We need to contact ALL the senators and apprise them of the situations. Rather than have a different message sent to each senator, the core will need to define an agenda, and the communication needed. The state chapters will need to take that and follow up with their respective senators and reps, without diluting any of the messages. Having the core meet all the senators is not proper, we need to pitch in too. Unless we work as a team, nothing that the core has planned will work.
I was/am a member in immigration.com where all the talk of starting this forum happened. I have interacted with the core on many occassions before, and I was also one of the first to join this community. But work and family pressures prompted me to stay away, and in the meantime, my handle and password were forgotten. I had to resign up, and what I find today is that there is no understanding between the members. Be thankful that this forum was set up, and contribute positively in any way you can. Without your support, the core cant do it all. Lets stop worring about donations and membership fees. We are all intelligent, and highly paid. We have the brains to talk to senators and house reps. Lets move forward to get at least piecemeal legislations passed. Lets not wait for CIR. CIR is not going to happen, so dont believe in it.

not that it makes a huge difference, are they atleast trying to use some of the visa numbers by working over this weekend???
they are working overtime on receipting (see the FAQ). Wish they stop receipting for these last 2-3 days and use up ALL the visa numbers. Everyone should be put into I-485 approval work. If there are people stuck in NC, see if any of the June/July filers manage to pass the FBI database without a hit.
A receipt notice coming 2 days late is not a big deal. If a visa number is not used up, its lost, gone forever!

I believe everyone is thinking in the same direction... but if and only if we're able to come out of the blackhole called I-140.
Well, you don't need to wait for I-140 to come out of the blackhole if you are dumping the old case and starting a new EB2 case. According to my lawyer, new EB2 140s are getting processed at a much higher rate than those EB3 140s that were filed July 07.
