Dear All,
1. I was on H1B with company A from Januray 2003 to January 2008.
2. I am on L1A with company A from February 2008 which is valid till December 2010 (my 7 year limit on L1A ends by December 2010).
3. My Labor is applied in October, 2009 by company B.
If my labor is approved or labor pending for 1 year, can I reactivate my old H1B with company B and start working with them.
Please advise. Mr. Dhoni

You might have to resort to "Consular based Processing". Talk to your attorney about it.

"On behalf of the Republican side," he said, "I object." We object to the obstruction.
Honestly, what is the big deal here? Filing campaign finance reports electronically has been standard operating procedure for candidates for the House of Representatives and the White House for years -- as it has been for political parties, political action committees and "527" groups. Yet Senate candidates are still trudging down to the Senate Office of Public Records with paper copies of their reports, which are then passed along to the Federal Election Commission, which sends them to a vendor that punches in the information and zaps it back to the FEC electronically. That finally makes them widely available, sometimes too late for voters to see who's donating to whom and how the money is being spent. With this seeming fear of modernity, it's a wonder the Senate isn't calculating budgets with an abacus. Or is it a fear of disclosure?
After the bill was blocked, Ms. Feinstein, chairman of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, said, "It is very hard for me to understand who could oppose this and what their reason for opposing it could be." The infamous unnamed senator (or senators) has for more than a week blocked passage of legislation that would require Senate candidates to file campaign finance reports electronically.
Electronic filings would make the names of campaign donors readily available -- it's how members of the House and presidential candidates have been doing it for years. When Sen. Russell Feingold (D-Wis.) first brought the bill to the floor last week, though, he was told that an unnamed lawmaker objected.
Long-standing Senate custom allows the objection of a single senator to stop a bill in its tracks -- it's known as a secret hold. A measure that passed the Senate earlier this year, and awaits a House vote, would eliminate the practice.
The hold unleashed a torrent of activity on the Internet, as bloggers tried to flush out the identity of the senator responsible for the hold. But after an onslaught of phone calls to Senate offices, the bloggers have no answer. No one owned up to being the culprit.
Yesterday, the bill's sponsor tried again. And again, the Republican floor leader objected. A spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said he is sure the name of the secret senator is known "in the cloakroom," but he said that misses the point.
"A hold can't stop something from coming to the floor," Don Stewart said. "It can only stop it from being pushed through without a full and open debate on the bill."
That's true -- sponsors had been trying to pass the bill by unanimous consent, which does not permit amendment or debate. But Feingold told the liberal blog Daily Kos that the path was typical for a bill with 35 bipartisan co-sponsors that did not elicit a single objection in committee.
Writing on the blog yesterday, Feingold said: "The fact is that someone anonymously blocked the bill, . . . that person has made no effort to resolve his or her concerns with us, and the Republican leadership won't even tell us who that person is."

Hi,
I got an LUD on my I140 on 07/28/07. There is no message change though. This I-140 was approved way back in Aug 2006. I have filed my I-485 etc on June 1st 07, and its in process. Does anyone know what doesn this LUD mean.

Hello,
I am a brain cancer patient. If something happens to me, Would my wife and children continue to get the GC?
I have filed my I 485 in July 2007. My priority date is Sept 2003 (EB3). My wife has EAD and she is working.
I would really appreciate if somebody replies.

Here is my scenario...
1. Applied my first EAD thru some lawyer (hence G-28)
2. I am planning to renew it on "my own"
Can I renew EAD without Attroney help... I know the answer "YES" but the main question is... do I need to inform USCIS saying that I want to withdraw my lawyer's and hence G-28 which was filed along with my first EAD?
If anyone are sucessful, please help me...My question is not on how to self apply EAD..My question is whether we need to inform USCIS about G-28...

B1 is purely-non-immigrant-intent visa while H1 is dual-intent. Given this, I do not see any harm entering on B1 while you have a valid I-797 presumably starting Oct 1st? So, after returning you can appear for H1 visa stamp and later enter using H1.

I have got my EAD and want to do part time job as well as work on H1 for the employee who sponsored my GC, What is my status? I am still on H1 or AOS? I would be glad if someone can reply!
If you use your EAD (for part time or full time), you are on EAD and your H1B status is gone. It does not matter that you primary job is still on H1B.

H4 goes void once u start using EAD.So where is the question of extension of h4.???If u donot use EAD,u can parallelly extend ur h4 visa until ur petitions are pending.

My H1B(8+ year) is expiring, and my company is willing to file H1B with Engg manager role. My previous H1B or extension was files for software engineer. My GC(EB2) is filed as Software engineer, with PD as Jan 2006.
Questions
1) Now is it ok to file H1B with new title? What if H1B gets rejected?
2) How does this title change affect GC? Can the GC be cancelled because the title has changed or H1B gets rejected? The engg manager role is similar to software engneer role, except people responsiblities.
3) If the H1B gets accepted, then is there still a danger to GC? Do they verify GC papers before approving H1B?
