If we start contributing different amounts on this thread then this may dilute the impact of the idea.
Actually I need to ammend for_gc's statement there a little bit.

All postings on IV should identify the user as contributing member or a Free User.
That change will help IV to increase Funding ..
I will sign up for monthly recurring to IV if I see above change ..
You can add your contribution details to the signature. Remember, all the IVans are not paid for volunteer work. If you have time, please feel free to write the component compatible with joomla, paypal and google-checkout to implement this. People, since Aman and lets not forget other core members also (who I am sure have racked up a lot of out of pocket cost) we as a community should gather funds for administrative cost also. GC is not just Aman's/ pappu/logiclife and others core member's dream...its OUR dream, and its not fair that in spite of knowing the time and money spent by the core members we donot share the burden.
So here is what I am thinking, there are 21000+ members of which I think 10,000 can be considered the real people (I am sure there are more..but a real conservative estimate) if we all pitch in $10 for administrative cost I think it would not put any dent in our pockets and this collective effort would not create a financial burden on any of the core members.
Any thoughts!

July 2nd filers can expect their receipts by Friday(8/10) or Monday(8/13). It will take 3 days for them to just process July 2nd receipts.

If this is true ,we are happy.Atleast ,they are going to enter our applications in the system(atleast they are not lost).But,waiting till weekend is quite narrow.What if the application gets rejected and we have no time to refile??Anyways,was the 2nd july filers date a prediction or did u get the info from a reliable source?

what matters more , IMHO, is some of the basic skills like motivation, hunger for goal, work ethic, stress management etc which typically is categorized as life skills. Which are not teachable.
Immigrants have these in plenty, that probably explains why a graduate from village school in India, can kick ass in a duke and later succeed at work too.
Education helps, quality education starts one off with advantage. But that's about it...life is marathon not a 4-6 year sprint @ universities.
These studies by wadhwa and co should start looking at these and not just patents , quality of education etc .

SA 2339. Mr. CORNYN (for himself and Mr. Enzi, Mr. Gregg, Mr. Smith, Mr. Sununu, Mr. Coleman, and Mr. Voinovich) submitted an amendment intended to be proposed to amendment SA 2327 proposed by Mr. Kennedy to the bill H.R. 2669.
The amendment was ruled out of order by the Chair of the Committee, after a Motion by Sen. Durbin (D-IL) and a vote more-or-less on party lines. This is hopefully just a procedural slowdown. HLG is aware that alternative procedural options are still being considered.
The amendment also called for a one-time increase in H1 visas, which seemed to be the reason for the amendment�s defeat.
What you can do.
If anyone lives in these Senators' jurisdictions, please call their offices and thank them for sponsoring the amendment, and encourage them to keep pushing for this amendment.
If you live in the jurisdiction of those who voted against the amendment, please call them and encourage them of the urgent need for foreign trained nurses and PTs. Telephone is the best way to make your voice heard. Here is the link to the Senators' phone numbers and contact info.
